Hi everyone! I’m new to the premium app and am having huge problems trying to find common food items to log. Simple things like “tomato”, “tortilla”, “mozzarella”!! Could anyone give some guidance? Thanks!

For fruits and vegetables add “usda” to your search. You’ll get quite a few. I usually look for many that are similar and choose one.
For “tortillas”, unless your making them from scratch, smoky enter the brand name and type. “La Banderita low carb tortillas” etc. verify the calories match the package because MFP is crowdsourced and somebody has always entered at least one entry wrong. 🙄
Same with mozarella. Use the brand name. “Bel gio mozarella”.
If your making something from scratch, either enter your ingredients under meals or recipes and save them so you can reuse them whenever you want to.
I make homemade skyr to make homemade low cal ice cream. The only ingrrdient is skim milk and a few drops of liquid rennet. I just use the entry for a minute aching commercial brand (Siggie’s) for the skyr and a generic entry for the leftover whey, which I use to make pancakes and bread. They actually add up to a little more than the calamities cost of the skim milk but I figure I make the difference up shorting elsewhere so I’m fine with that.

After a while you’ll build up an “inventory” of frequently used foods and they’ll come up as soon as you begin typing “carb” or “Imperial” (margarine) or whatever.0
