    Alot of cruciferous vegetables really benefit from being roasted vs boiled or steamed.

    I like to roast broccoli, cauliflower, asparagus, brussel sprouts etc. Quick toss in a small amount of oil, or bacon grease for brussels, or some non-stick spray if your into that. Season as desired. For these veg I usually go salt/pepper/garlic. Roast at a high temp (400+) for 10 to 20 minutes (10 for asparagus, 15 or so on the broccoli and cauli, 20 for brussels). Gives em a nice roast flavor and no sogginess. You can add shredded or grated Parmesan in the last couple minutes and flip it to broil.
