History with weight loss

My weight loss started in 2nd grade, when I thought I was fat. Looking at photos from that time I know now that wasn’t true. It came from my mom’s body dysmorphia, when she thought she was fat (again, photos show that wasn’t true).
As a 14 year old (5’5 at 120 lbs), I continued to think I was overweight because my mom told me that I was. I was routinely gaining and losing 10 lbs every 2 weeks throughout my early teens.
When I was in my mid teens, I joined TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly), as the youngest (by far) member. I won the queen prize for the most weight lost and was proud of the crown that I got to wear.
In my late teens, I went on the liquid protein diet (1977 era) where I ate no food and drank this nasty drink for 2 weeks. It was a horrible experience but it worked (temporarily).
I was on a roller coaster during my early 20’s, then finally decided in my 30’s that I had enough. I got off the roller coaster and gained about 75 lbs. I kept the weight on until my mid to late 40’s.
Finally, I found out about MFP from my sister in law, whose dietitian told her about it in preparation for weight loss surgery. I started reading the Forums and learned about the process of losing weight. I have gradually lost about 60 lbs and have kept it off. Keeping it off for me is far more difficult than taking it off.
I credit MFP for helping me learn what to do.

Wow!
Your story, i am sure, resonates with many of us. If not in the specific details most certainly as a general storyline.
I (too) found MFP in 2014 just as I was about to give up on weight loss again given that I was doing my usual eat the least I can while exercising the most I can. Nine years of hanging around as of a few days ago, about eight of them at a normal BMI (or close enough for hand grenades 😎) after spending most of my life in the 30 to 40 range. So even if I don't log my food here anymore, I still hang around and sometimes even try to help! 😘2
