I am a 52-year-old female, who has struggled with weight her whole life, trying to make some permanent lifestyle changes that lead to permanent weight loss.

Party will be about an hour away at a bowling alley for some bumper bowling for the kids. I was hoping the scale would be down today (for a buffer) but I know I didn’t eat the healthiest yesterday so it’s my own fault. Today will be filled with snacks, food and cake. I’ll try to have some control by eating a small meal before I leave.
12/03 -182.0- (Trend weight 181.9) The birthday party went nicely at the bowling alley. Pizza, cake and ice cream have shown up on the scale this morning. NSV= My son wanted to take home a burger meal for dinner later from a nearby restaurant which would be something we can’t get in our town. I ordered nothing for me for to take home. I ate a turkey sandwich on low carb bread later when I got hungry. Baby steps. On another note, I found out my older friend (78) fell during her family Christmas party and was rushed to the hospital yesterday. After a transport to a 2nd hospital with surgeons, she will have to have surgery. I will find out more later. Let’s get healthy and stay healthy, my friends. Our bodies are going to need us!

Goals for this round to get into 137s, hopefully lose a pound and keep heart rate under 50 beats a minute, then longer term goal to get back to 135 in time for Christmas (just over 4 weeks!).Achieved goal weigh of 125lb in summer 2016 by losing 66lb and then gradually gained between 7 and 11 since then & didn't want to gain any more, it’s taken me 75 rounds to achieve target of 130 = back to maintenance!! But then I crept up again, so need to get back to around 134. A healthy lifestyle must be a permanent way of life.

11/28 138.6 – wet miserable day only 4 miles walked, all but 10 exercise calories eaten back.
11/29 137.6 – lunch out with DS’s x 3 plus a couple of friends too, we all tried to eat healthy, and we did get 4 miles walking in, I was not hungry at tea time so just had an apple and a coffee, but still ate all exercise calories + back.
11/30 137.6 – 9.87 miles walked, no exercise calories eaten back.
12/1 138.2 – no structured walking as childminding little DGS, over on calories.
12/2 138.2 – 11.13 miles walked, 45% exercise calories eaten back.
12/3 138.2 – stepped out the door to do 8 mile walk, only made it half way to end of our cu-de-sac as it was dangerously icy & slippery under foot, not wanting to risk a fall and maybe a broken bone, we very quickly abandoned that idea so no structured walking!! ☹ Headed 87 miles up north to DS & family, we had tickets to watch DGD (aged 5) at her dance schools show – amazing!! Stayed over at their house.

UGW: 18511/28: 265.6. Feeling rough this morning. Didn't sleep well at all and sick stomach. Yesterday was stressful and my guts always seem to have their say when my nervous system is being rude. I'll be happy if i can achieve C-grade work today. I really just want to flop over and go back to bed, but I'm getting this coffee down so i can at least try.12/3: 265.2. Probably up today from water retention. I think we have been eating too much takeout. I did not, in fact, go to bed early, and actually later than Friday night because i thought of several Xmas presents I needed to buy online before i forgot. However I am almost done shopping for my kid now 🎁🎄It's dark and rainy today and i feel like getting back in bed, but I have my coffee going and a list of things to do, so i will get moving. In a minute. Or two. Or five 😁
11/29: 265.4. Not super hungry today until after work which was fine with me Went to bed early last night and slept straight through until the cat's breakfast time. Had more energy today (funny how that works!) so went for a walk on my break.
11/30: 264.6. Strategizing the holiday eating--got my first potluck invitation so i guess it's time to start planning. I ordered some barbecue from a place back home on Goldbelly for Xmas dinner--I'm digging the idea of just making dessert rather than a whole day or more of cooking. We have been missing our old barbecue joint badly so this is a good time for it (unfortunately every place we've been recommended since we moved has not hit the spot). It will also be easier to weigh and log, which is a bonus. It's so expensive for what we're getting (like a 3x markup from buying at the restaurant! Jeez) and crazy to think what used to be a quick dinner I would grab on the way home at least once a week is now just for very special occasions. That's probably best, though--it's not health food by any means 😂

About Me:This is my fifteenth round and really appreciate having someplace to stay accountable.
Thanks to a medication I'm on for my mental health and an overeating habit, I managed to gain a lot of weight in the last year or so. On July 4, I stepped on the scale for the first time since I started the med (that is known to cause weight gain) and decided enough was enough. I buckled down and started actually recording my food for the first time in over five years and started walking every day. Now I need motivation to keep going. I'm a mom of five and grandma of one 4yo that I babysit during the week when my daughter is working. We live in the Pacific Northwest where we're entering the rainy season which makes walking a lot harder, and it's my main form of exercise right now. I do have access to gym equipment at our HOA clubhouse, but I still have to walk there and back (takes about 9 minutes). I recently started working full time (after over 23 years as a SAHM) so my time to exercise is now limited.

11/28 - 214.8 - no exercise - My weight was up again this morning. The pumpkin pie is almost gone, though and so are the leftovers. I'll be making turkey and dumpling soup tomorrow probably. And that should cut back on the calories I have during the day. I just get off work and I'm tired and hungry and just want to chill and munch on some chips or whatever so I gave in last night and had some veggie straws and today I had some Ritz Thin Crisps to satisfy my cravings. I also don't get as much exercise as I did before even though I'm on my feet all day. I still don't know if I'm going to go to the gym on my two days off. My feet are killing me and I just want to relax tomorrow. When I'm not taking care of my grandson. Oh, I also have to take my car to Autozone to find out why the check engine light is on. Ugh.
11/29 - 215.2 - no exercise - I was up again today. Sigh. I know it's because I keep having small slices of pumpkin pie in the morning and I've been getting serious munchies after getting off of work. I gave into that the last two nights because I was just tired and sore and wanted comfort food to relax. I also ate way too much today and am way over on calories so I think I'm just going to call today a wash, have a big slice of apple pie with ice cream and then get back on track tomorrow. I also didn't get to go on a walk or to the gym today because I have felt super dizzy all day. Any time I moved, the whole room would spin. I was finally feeling a little better when I went to cook dinner, but it was really bad around lunch time. No idea what was going on. I don't feel sick in any way. The dizziness came out of nowhere.
11/30 - 217.4 - no exercise - My weight was up a bunch after my impromptu break from calorie counting yesterday. But it's all good. I just now know where I stand and can just start back up from here. I was mostly good today. Had a salad for lunch and soup for dinner. I did munch on some leftover season fries and turkey while I cooked. I logged them both to get me back on track with that stuff. Now I just have to power through for a couple weeks. Then it's my birthday (13th) which will be a cheat day so I can, you know, have cake and stuff. After that I start baking for the holidays. I think, though, I'll keep my baking to the week before Christmas to limit my temptations.
12/1 - 215.6 - no exercise - Back to work. My feet and knees are killing me. I did soak my feet because it just feels so nice right after work, but I fooled around too long between filling the tub and putting my feet in so the hot water only lasted a short time and had cooled some already. Oh well.
12/2 - 214.2 - no exercise - Work seemed to drag on and the last couple hours kill me because my shoes are, I guess, too tight. I think I need to get wides because my toes are rubbing even though I got a 1/2 size bigger. It's causing like nerve damage in my big toes. I completely lose feeling on one side of them and the other side just aches. I do have 2 other pair coming (couldn't decide so got both). I might see if they have wides and exchange them.
12/3 - 213.8 - no exercise - Well I was doing okay getting back into the groove of watching what I ate. But then my husband ordered pizza while I was at work, and I can't resist pizza. So I had a few pieces when I got home and ate the last of my candy bar. So went way over on calories. But pizza day is automatically a cheat day.

Goals for this round to get into 137s, hopefully lose a pound and keep heart rate under 50 beats a minute, then longer term goal to get back to 135 in time for Christmas (just over 4 weeks!).Achieved goal weigh of 125lb in summer 2016 by losing 66lb and then gradually gained between 7 and 11 since then & didn't want to gain any more, it’s taken me 75 rounds to achieve target of 130 = back to maintenance!! But then I crept up again, so need to get back to around 134. A healthy lifestyle must be a permanent way of life.

11/28 138.6 – wet miserable day only 4 miles walked, all but 10 exercise calories eaten back.
11/29 137.6 – lunch out with DS’s x 3 plus a couple of friends too, we all tried to eat healthy, and we did get 4 miles walking in, I was not hungry at tea time so just had an apple and a coffee, but still ate all exercise calories + back.
11/30 137.6 – 9.87 miles walked, no exercise calories eaten back.
12/1 138.2 – no structured walking as childminding little DGS, over on calories.
12/2 138.2 – 11.13 miles walked, 45% exercise calories eaten back.
12/3 138.2 – stepped out the door to do 8 mile walk, only made it half way to end of our cu-de-sac as it was dangerously icy & slippery under foot, not wanting to risk a fall and maybe a broken bone, we very quickly abandoned that idea so no structured walking!! ☹ Headed 87 miles up north to DS & family, we had tickets to watch DGD (aged 5) dance school’s show – amazing!! Stayed over at their house.
12/4 139.2 - Lots more snow fell during the night – a winter wonderland ! Watched 2 little DGDs at their rock-climbing session (luckily indoors), went to a Christmas tree festival at the church with crooked spire (Chesterfield), then travelled home, again no structured walking, hence calories over ☹ again ! Today is forecast to be persistent heavy rain, so will not be able to get out again; must restrict calories to get back to where I was.

History:Harry and Han are our cats, who travel with us. Have two “kids”, who are very much adults, a DGS, and second GS on the way. We have three parents, 88(father), 86(mother), 84(MIL) still with us, and I have logically been needing to help them more as they age. I got my act in gear during COVID, somewhat inspired by NOT becoming my parents. I lost 30 lbs and was exercising daily. Unfortunately, I am an “all in or not” person. Hubby and I seeing our family home and downsizing distractions, plus medical incident with my father and all their new needs, became an excuse. A year and a half later, I gained 25 lbs and lost all my athletic improvements. I need to figure out balance and how to make health be a daily priority for life!

11/28 – 127.6 I am NOT multi-tasking well. Despite not reporting in or sharing with the group, I have stepped on the scale every single morning. So at least I am seeing the consequences of my actions/inactions. Hubby leaves town for two weeks starting the 30th. Typical behavior is to not cook and eat ice cream for dinner while he is away. Soooo, my goal is to get back to tracking and to actually eat real meals. It’s funny, I am actually feeling lost on how to track and eat real meals. So crazy as I was doing it efficiently for roughly 9 months before fumbling. I know I can do this, I just need to be sure to. Let start December well!! Wishing everyone well!

NSV — I took a different approach to my “workout” yesterday. I spent 60+ min on the 🎾court, plus 30+ min of calisthenics / ST at my health club’s basketball court. I had actually never been to the indoor 🏀 ct / gym even though I’ve been a member for 12+ years. I spied TRX bands, weights, kettlebells, heavy balls, balance balls, etc in the CORNER…! While the weight room was busy, the gym was empty. So for 30min the gym became my own personal playground! I simply NEVER would have explored/ventured there without @quiltingjaine ‘s nudge. THANK YOU!! I now feel I can do this🤸🏼🏋️♀️on a regular basis. And guess what?! IT WAS FUN! I felt like I was playing “pirate” & ended up with my personal treasure island. Big score. Definitely planning on ST there often.

Broke fast at 71 hrs.30 min. I wasn’t hungry it was more about wanting to eat dinner at 6:30 instead of 7PM. 😎 I’m usually finished eating by 6PM every night so I wanted to eat earlier for next IF. I learned from the fast that I can live through being “hungry” … It’s 💯 mind over body. One tough part was between 48 and 50 hours I got a mild headache. Ended up sleeping well. Fasting increased my will power - at least the perception 😎. Today: 🎾🚶♀️🏋️♀️💪🏻Onward!

Don’t know how I got in 4.1k steps for walking around the house w/a cane (Actually, joking about the cane, but I did hop around, so maybe over counting hops ?!?!!) Ice does wonders but it should classify as torture.
NSVs- I’m mindful now of what & when I choose to eat… Not obsessing, but clearly mindful. It’s turning into fuel only instead of emotion, comfort, or a tastebud party. I’m also congratulating myself throughout the day with increased positive self-talk. I am finding that growing confidence & healthy choices (includes many decisions not just food) far outweigh the dopamine rush or guilt associated w/the fleeting momentary pleasure of BAD CHOICES. Yes, bad. Gotta be real with myself here. For me, it’s about self-discipline-a battle of the mind.
90% of my will-power relies on the fact that my pantry & fridge don’t include temptations. If we have items that my DH wants, by my request, he hides them… 😃!

I do receive passive-aggressive grief from the crew…Some of you have mentioned this before… (The efforts to sabotage, judgments, lack of support, eye-rolling, etc.) And I will definitely experience it tonight!👀 I am prepared. My mom always said… “Kill’em with kindness!”

Didn’t totally flunk, but I truly did not plan on eating dessert and I did. So I broke my promise to ME.
Forgiven! MOVE ON. I’ll get back on my plan today. Was it worth it? NO! I will remember this feeling for the next temptation.

Good news: Decided to get a spontaneous “InBody” and I GAINED 1.3lbs SMM (Muscle mass) and LOST 3.0lbs of FAT.

In Aug 2014 @ 157lbs (down 15 from heaviest of 172lbs in 2010), I decided to take control of my health. I lost 30lbs by 1/1/2015. Weight topped @ 128-132lbs through the end of 2020. Five years!

2020 through 2021, I fluctuated 132-137lbs. Three more solid years.
8/1/ 2022 crept up to 140lbs.
Dropped to 128lbs again by 9/30 then held 130lbs till 12/22.
2023 Back ⬆️ 145lbs by July 15! 15lbs BOOM! Enjoyed eating & margaritas way too much! Ive always eaten healthy BUT portion control is/was a huge issue. Started tracking. Joined “Just give me 10 days” R231 in beginning of 8/2023. Here we are!
I learned MY choices created an emotional 🎢 roller coaster with yo-yo weight and fitness. My forever goal is to reach 130lbs as a ceiling. Pretty clear to me that once I reached my 60s, I would reach a goal weight and then relax/ drift backwards. So glad 145lbs was the max over the last nine years.
I also noticed that as I aged it became much MUCH more difficult to lose weight. I could loose 15lbs easy in 6 to 8 weeks up to my 60s … This is absolutely not true anymore!!!!

My grandpa passed away this weekend and I'm going to my grandma's out of state for a few days to attend the funeral and help get her situated. I'm up today due to a little extra comfort eating and that's okay - I expected it. I'm packing workout clothes in the event I can sneak away and get some good exercise/run (because it's also good for my brain and helps me sort emotions). We got an AirBnB so there's a kitchen to hopefully cook at least a couple meals rather than eat out for all of them. Either way, I anticipate coming back a bit higher again but I'm sure I'll get back on track as usual.

Previous Day's Comments11/28 - I've dropped 0.5lbs since yesterday which I wasn't expecting. I guess I did a decent job Sunday of re-hydrating enough to start seeing the water weight drop off today versus being delayed as I had thought. I ran 10 minutes yesterday to get back into the groove and monitored my eating based on my body's hunger cues. Today I did some run intervals and have meals planned out other than breakfast (if I need it - I fasted until lunch yesterday so hoping to do the same today). TOM is set to arrive in the next 48 or so hours so I'm not going to be too shocked or upset if I see a slight uptick or maintenance between now and then - I'm mentally prepared for that possibility and know my body will resume it's normal functions very shortly after. I've missed you all and it's really good to be back - now to navigate this holiday season together and with success!
11/29 - Can I tell you how ecstatic I was to see 154 flash for a split second?! I'm still very very happy with seeing this weight, too, don't get me wrong. No TOM so I'm sure I'm still holding on to some bloat/water weight from that, as well. I ran this morning again with the pups, a super slow 20 minutes followed by a 5 minute sprint & strength workout. I'm feeling pretty good about the progress I'm making so soon after Thanksgiving. Last year I snowballed out of control starting in mid-September and didn't catch myself until January. This year, I've got a different mindset and I'm far more focused on my goals - I've already proven to myself I'm in a much healthier place mentally just by how easily I can jump back into my healthier habits. Now I need to keep that mentality going forward and grow my habits to build a better lifestyle overall. It helps that our friend group is shifting as well. We're all discussing a 5k/10k/Half marathon in April (I'm debating attempting the 10k - the other girls are talking a half marathon. BF is considering 5k. Unsure what the other husbands are thinking about it). Us and another couple already signed up for a local 5k trail run in June - StepDaughter wanted to do another 5k race with us so we found one and signed up already! LittleBro also said he'd do it (shocking us all) so that's even better. A whole family affair.
11/30 - The dogs woke me up about 12:45 this morning needing to be let out. Instead of waking up BF with myself and 2 rowdy dogs trying to crawl back in bed, I finished out my night (morning?) on the couch with them instead. That said, I didn't have my scale (in the master bath) to weigh in until after I drank my lemon water, ran, and drank some water to replenish - not an accurate reading at all so I skipped it entirely. Oh well. I ate a little over yesterday as I forgot to log my lunch side until after I had eaten dinner. Oops. TOM finally showed up so I'm looking forward to what the scale shows tomorrow and if I dropped any more water weight/bloat. Baked pork chops with some sides tonight (unsure sides at this point). Chicken gnocchi soup for lunch. Had 2 hard boiled eggs for breakfast as I started getting shaky after fasting until 1030. Feeling pretty good despite the work stress/deadlines going on late yesterday through today. At least I'm off tomorrow and can relax a bit
12/01 - Whoohoo! Very happy to see a solid 154 weigh in today. I'm still dealing with a bit of TOM-related bloat so hopefully a bit more will drop off soon. I'm sore as well, so that may be causing a little water retention in my muscles.Today BF requested that I pick up pizza for lunch for us on the way home from the post (its on the way) so I did. I'll be mindful and eat slowly as to not overeat. Chicken quarters for dinner but no idea sides yet. No workout but the kid got his drivers license transferred which is a big deal. I did my 3 days of running already so I've gotten all my scheduled workouts in anyway. Should be a fairly quiet weekend so I'm hoping I can stick to habits fairly easily.

I'm 30F and committed to wondering less about the scale and wondering instead about how great it's going to be when my daily healthy practices are so normal that it would be weird not to do them, even on vacations or holidays. It has been nice so far.
I'm confident in my pants and now I am adding a mini goal to read on my stationary bike at least 30 minutes for at least 3/10 days.
I need to remember: Enjoy the process. Don't fixate on the outcome.

I'm jumping in mid round, because I fell off the wagon hard the last few days. I need to pull myself together and hold myself accountable. I've played around here the last couple rounds, but need to be more consistent. The good, the bad and the ugly.

12/4: 139.8. Had McDonald's AND a blizzard from Dairy Queen. I went way over on my calories. On the plus side, I ran 6 miles (6.2 miles in 61 minutes. Trying to get 10k time under 60 minutes. Very happy with the progress of this run). I'm feeling a bit guilty about the choices I made over the weekend. I'm going to give OMAD a real shot this week and see if it's right for me.6 -

This my second round, I am happy that I continue!
A quick info about myself, I’m 34 years old and 164 cm. I’m a phd student so I mostly sit, not very active. I try to go to the gym at least 3 times a week, but mostly end up by going once or twice. I have been trying to lose weight for about 20 years funnily I have gained 50 kgs through those years. Now I’m 103.8 kg and I hope be 75 kg in a year or more.

My plan when there is pizza at our community bingo is to just eat the toppings and leave the crust. I even make crustless pizza at home by spreading a layer of mozzarella, baking it until it forms a crust then adding sauce and toppings to that “crust” and putting back in the oven to heat the toppings. Very low carbs and no water retention from flour.5 -

11/28. 132.5 Fasting today, I hope. Up before 4:30AM - UGH! Ate at Art Quilt potluck, had a glass of wine after I got home and enjoyed my half pita and 1 ounce of melitzanosalata. Nothing but water and coffee since about 6 last night. We’ll see what today brings.
11/29 132.0 My intended fast didn’t last. My stomach was growling, REALLY growling by 11. At least I didn’t go crazy. I’m good with that. Today I have a nail appointment and a dermatology appointment. Should have some time to kill between so will walk in a store probably. Tonight is community Bingo with pizza for dinner. I think I’ll pick up a salad for myself and try to avoid pizza crust.
11/30 133.0 at 4:30AM! Dinner at Bingo was fried chicken. I will attempt fasting since DH is taking friend to lunch. I have a quart of homemade chicken broth in the fridge.
12/1 131.5 DH’s lunch was cancelled yesterday. I did a “modified fast.”
12/2 133.0 Ran errands Nothing sounded good for dinner so we just started driving and went to Jimmy John’s. Unfortunately I got salt and vinegar chips. BOY! They were delish!
⭐️⭐️Starting today I am getting back to exercising and eating better.
12/3 132.5 Ran 1 errand yesterday, helped a neighbor, and SEWED for the first time in a long time. Making “stuffy” Dino’s for DGGS for Christmas. Got over 5000 steps, my modest goal.
Not sure how I failed to post yesterday. I was oddly emotional when I read that some people consider a lingering hummingbird a sign that the spirit of a loved one is near. Yesterday was my mom’s 111 birthday
although she is celebrating in heaven for the last 30 years.
12/4 132.0 It was a good day. Great Greek side salad and 1 beef skewer. 1 skewer of beef “leftover”8
