Carb cycling

Hi! I’m new to fitness pal premium and am wondering if there is a carb cycling program in the app.

    Not as such, but my understanding is that with premium you can set different macro goals per day, which should get you what you need.

    This is from four years ago, but might get you started. (I don't have premium and don't carb cycle, so offer no guarantees :wink: )

    In premium, you have more control over your calorie goals, plus calories and macros can vary by day of the week. I think premium MFP would let you structure a carb cycling program as long as it repeated a weekly pattern.

    Why carb cycling? I'm asking because I haven't seen convincing evidence that it helps with weight loss, which is why many people use MFP.

    I have seen people who are eating low carb, and prefer to time some carbs around workouts for better performance. Even in free MFP, when logging exercise and eating those calories as MFP is designed, it would be pretty easy to use the exercise calories disproportionately on carbs, and achieve that kind of carb cycling effect. It would require "violating" one's macro percents on those days, but that's not a big deal.

    I'm not trying to be a pest, if you'd like to do carb cycling, that's 100% your call. I hope it does help you!

    I only ask because your reasons might affect the answer I'd give you, as my 3rd paragraph implies.
