I don't know if I am allowed to ask this here, but what are the benefits of the Premium Subscription versus the free?

I have premium, like it, but could live without it (did, for a long time).
I mostly use it to fine-tune my nutrition, or to look up more detailed nutrition in my diary when people here ask nutrition questions. (For example, I can see which foods I've eaten recently contributed the most of some nutrient to my overall eating. I think that's a premium feature. Also, I like managing my macros in grams rather than percents, and like putting all my exercise calories into carbs (which I don't much pay attention to) so that I can focus on getting my protein and fat minimums (which I do care about)).
I hope that may illustrate the main point I'd make about premium: Whether it's useful or not depends primarily on individual interests and needs. Different individuals who prefer premium are likely to prefer it for different reasons.
What I usually suggest is that people try the free version for a while, learn the basics, then take a look at whether premium features would enhance the usage in a meaningful way.
There are a few cases where I might suggest premium up front: That's for some very specialized weight-loss diet choices, or for people who take a thing more seriously and are more likely to succeed if they put money into it.
Best wishes!0

Well, there are some bells and whistles only available on Premium. I didn't find any of them intriguing enough. While I would pay extra for a cleaned up database, both free and Premium use the same glitchy, cluttered database.
I started using MFP on a computer, and still use the computer for finding new entries and entering recipes. I use MFP on my phone when I want a search feature for older entries and newer recipes. I don't know what the limit is, but it will only search so far back for recipes.0 -
There's an overview here:

Feel free to ask questions if some of these features are unclear.
I personally don't need premium, but it really depends on what your goals are.0 -
In my opinion it's over-priced for what you get.
I lost all my weight (80ish pounds) in 2007-08 and I've kept it off using the free version. I had Premium for a little while and didn't see the benefit so I switched back to the free version.0 -
Een here since 2013 or 14. Never had the need for premium. The basic version does all I need0
