Gym Barriers Anyone?

Mine has been limited access to a vehicle. Options for me...wait on a bus or 20-25 min walk in a suburban area (not many sidewalks). Uber if I'm really feeling desperate.

When I can get my mind right I push myself and do the walk. Otherwise working out at home is always an option, thankfully.

Yep. I don’t drive for medical reasons, and public transit is a time consuming hassle. My preference at one time was aquatic fitness classes, but getting to the pool in the next town over is a challenge. There are lots of exercise classes at my town’s rec center, but it’s impossible to get there by bus from my house even though it’s a short drive away. So I have a low-tech stationary bike at home, do physio exercises at home, and have been doing some walking, strength, and stretching using Youtube videos. There’s a senior centre across the street from my house that offers some classes, but they usually conflict with my work schedule. I might look into using the fitness facilities at the university where I work, since I have to be there anyway on certain days. But I’ve gotten comfortable with exercising at home even though I really like the idea of group classes or activities.

We have a home gym. :)

Plus I cycle, walk, run, and also climb stairs at work.

Walking might count as a nice cooldown after the workout, provided you have the time. Could you cycle instead?

I dont like the gym that much. I Have access to several. I have a car. I prefer to walk for exercise. I have a few light weights and some therabands at home. I'm sure I'd benefit from more, but I prefer the great outdoors to the gym.
