Adding exercise calories to daily calorie goal?

I want to add only the “active” exercise calories burned to my daily calorie goals, and not the “total” exercise calories burned. How do I change that setting?

Can you be a bit more precise? Where do you get the exercise calories from? If you just chose exercise type and duration on the MFP website then you'll get the net calories (the active ones). Some devices show active and total calories. Some apps (Map My series) only shows total calories.

Do you have an all day fitness tracker device sync-ed to MFP? If so, the device and MFP should be working out all the arithmetic to make sure only net activity calories get added in.

The actual number you see won't actually be the same as either the active calories or total calories from an exercise (usually). That's because it's a reconciliation between what MFP expected you to burn for the total day (based on your profile settings) and what the tracker saw you as burning (including daily life stuff, not just formal exercise). They do the math so that your goal still includes a deficit for the weight loss rate you asked for in your profile.

Honestly, for most people, syncing an all-day tracker is going to be the simplest starting point. (I'd recommend setting MFP to allow negative adjustments.)

There isn't a setting in MFP to do exactly what you're saying, I believe. In premium MFP, one can turn exercise calories off altogether (which I wouldn't advise for most people, honestly).
