Hello everyone! My name is Dan and I am returning to myfitnesspal. I've used fitbit for the last few years but since google bought it they removed some features I really liked so Just coming back as this has a better food database anyways. My heaviest was 458 lbs and I am now at 300. I got Gastric sleave surgery about 4 years ago which got me down to 320 and i stayed there for about 2 years. this past year I lost 20 lbs through just diet and exercise. While its not a ton in one year I haven't really been trying to lose weight. I am only trying to make better choices every day.
My weightloss cured my sleep apnea and improved my asthma and sciatic pain. So if I never lose another pound I will be happy. My goals now is really to just make healthy decisions.
I've been overweight my entire life. I been actively trying to lose weight for over 12 years now and just recently found some success. If you want to add me I would love some friends but just keep in mind you won't find full detailed food logs from me. some days i might have a full day logged and other days i'll have one or two meals logged and that's it. I have been tracking and researching food for over 12 years. I have also studied nutrition in a college setting. I know when I am over and under calories without tracking items. I mainly use trackers for when I need to check my personal estimate or determine the nutrition of items I am unfamiliar with. As I am sure many people can understand, my problem is with decisions and not so much knowledge of nutrition.
I will, however, start posting progress pictures of me and be logging my weight. It's great to be back
