Toning Belly fat

I am training for my first half marathon in Oct. I am almost down to my pre pregnancy weight and waist size :) However when I look in the mirror all I see is my flubby stomach  Any suggestions to try to help tone that.

    Can't "tone" fat:bigsmile:

There are lots of exercises that help tone and strengthen your core.
Someone linked this web site here before. It is pretty cool for getting started.
    A different daily ab challenge.

Planks are great for toning all around the belly.

    Same weight in both photos:

Lift heavy weights. Eat at a very moderate deficit to your calorie intake if you think you need to drop a few pounds.

    No.

Planks strengthen the core, they don't specifically reduce fat in that area.

"tone" in the midsection comes from lowered BF%. Your body will burn fat from whatever portion of the body it wants. You can do 10,000 planks a day, but your body will burn the fat from whatever part of the body it wants, with the midsection usually being last.

Caloric deficit + Work (cardio AND compound lifting movements) + patience = a toned midsection.

You will notice very few individuals with nice midsections on this site do very little to no abdominal isolation.

Lifting weights maintains your muscle mass as you lose fat. That's where tone comes from. It's losing fat that was covering your lean muscle mass. It's much easier to maintain the mass you have and lose the fat from around it than build it up after you've lost fat and LBM.
