Creating meal: scanned barcode food not adding

Hello
Trying to add a scanned barcode food to create a meal, once scanned, and click the tick, is discards the meal, and I lose that and the ticked entry???
App is up to date, on newest iPhone newest software ..: premium member and they charge all this money for this app, I’d expect the features to actually work???
