Hi Everyone! I'm new here. I turned 60 in 2023, my big motivation to get serious. I've been working with a dietician for the past year with some success. I've learned a ton about nutrition and have lost about 20 pounds (though hovering back up around 4 lbs since the holidays). But I am graduating from her and will be on my own, so I'm switching to MyFitnessPal from the other app I used where she had access to review my food journal (Practice Better).

My access to Practice Better expires in a couple of days, so I'm spending New Year's Eve copying over my meals and recipes from it into MyFitnessPal.

My goal is to lose another 20 pounds this year. I want to keep up the healthy eating habits I have developed with the dietician, and keep going with my regular weekly exercise (swimming once a week up to 1km, workout at the gym twice a week) and occasional walks as well (in the nice weather). I'd like to add some more walking or light jogging on the remaining days. I have a treadmill at home, so rainy weather is no excuse! It's just that I'm often busy or distracted (I most likely have ADHD).

Having goals, and focusing on them will keep you on track. I’m a similar age, have some arthritis but find doing yoga each morning extremely effective (my rheumatologist is in awe of my flexibility). I’m in TO, we finally got some snow and I will take my new dog out for a long walk today- this is also a great tool for fitness. All the best!
