Units, meals by weight, and simpler reuse of previous entries for improved workflow

Hi there,
I've been a fan of MyFitnessPal for quite some time, and it's been a game-changer in managing my diet during periods with a calorie-restricted diet. I use it intensively when on a calorie-restricted diet but often leave it when not 100% focused on my diet since it becomes simply too much work. However, I've got a few ideas that I believe could take it to the next level and make it even more fantastic for users like me who are in it for the long haul.
Units:
You know how we all have our quirks when it comes to measurements? Well, here's a thought: What if users could set their favorite unit for all food and liquid measurements? My experience with different foods in the database and foods you enter by scanning the barcode is that they have different units based on the metric system (1 gr, 100 gr, l, ml, dl, odd portion measures like 122 gr), imperial system, or quantity measures like 1 slice, 1 piece, 1 serving, etc. Because of this, a lot of time during a day is spent on converting units. Personally, I'm all about 1 gram as a preferred unit since I weigh everything, even milk in my morning coffee. This has the added benefit of not having to type decimal numbers for even faster work flow. Making this a customizable option would be a game-changer!
Meals by Weight:
Consider this scenario: a homemade lasagna created as a meal called "lasagna" and is substantial enough to be shared or last for a few meals. Logging it can be a bit tricky, especially when dealing with fractions of the total meal. What if users could input their portion size directly in grams? Additionally, having the option to log the entire meal as one entity, like "lasagna," instead of breaking it down into ingredients, would be a neat simplification. This change would make adjusting the overall amount way easier.
Simpler Reuse of Previous Entries:
Entering food can be time-consuming, right? This is can be optimized for all the food you eat often. Currently the app can add all ingredients from for example breakfast from the day before. How about an option like "select ingredients from previous days"? This feature could make the process more efficient, allowing users to pick and choose from their food history. --> I just found out that this is already possible via "Edit". Additionally, having an editable column for amounts in our preferred unit would make adjusting weights a breeze compared to pressing edit on each entry separately and changing the weight.
These suggestions are aimed at making MyFitnessPal even more user-friendly, and I believe they could benefit dedicated users like me. Thanks for considering these ideas – looking forward to seeing what the future holds for MyFitnessPal!
Cheers,
