    Welcome back Kate!

What strategies will you use to lose the 30 pounds, and what are you going to do this time to maintain that loss long-term?

OMG, I wish I knew. No mainly counting calories, cutting refined carbs, and no sugar. My mainstay food right now are wasa crackers, plain yogurt with stevia, eggs, skinless boneless chicken, and lettuce and cucumbers. Apple's , The lemonade yellow ones are really good. I need more ideas, so suggestions are very welcome!

My personal approach when I got a pre-diabetic A1C was to go Keto. My A1C was normal in a matter of months. I have moved to an even more meat (mainly red meat) based Keto over time as that works for me in terms of sticking to it. My personal opinion is that cutting carbs, even the so called healthy carbs, back a lot is the way to deal with this, and my n=1 experience is that it works amazingly well. Even when I indulged on individual days during the Christmas season, my blood sugar didn't skyrock and came down quite quickly so my insulin sensitivity is improving after almost of year of Keto. I don't find Keto a difficult way to eat personally, but I know some people might. If you are one, I would suggest drastically cutting carbs even if you are not in the 20-30 grams of carbs a day that most Keto people eat.

I just shoot for 20 grams of carbs a day or less, or sometimes I go 20 net grams of carbs. I let the protein and fat fall wherever they happen to fall.
