Super itchy skin after pool swims

Hi all. As per title really…
I don’t know if my local pool have changed how they treat their water, but after swimming (or aqua aerobic sessions) I have recently noticed that my skin is super itchy. Like “scratch until you bleed” burning itchy.
I always shower straight after a pool session and it doesn’t stop it. I get some relief if I moisturise heavily before getting in the pool but that’s not nice as it means getting my products in the pool which will upset everyone else / ruin the water.
Other than stopping swimming or scratching myself raw, does anyone have any advice on how to reduce / stop this?
Thanks.

I use DermaSwimPro pre-swimming lotion, not supposed to have any affect on pool, filters, etc.

During the pandemic, many places used different or heavier germ killers in the water.
I wonder if your local pool is using a heavier hand on the chlorine. Chlorine can make you super itchy. Any pool with a very high PH will make you itch.

Or you could have become more sensitive to chlorine.

To combat it, you need to pretreat and rinse with a swimmer's bodywash. You need to pretreat the skin with a pool-safe barrier.

    PRETREAT

Options: DermaSwim, Diva Stuff Pretreat, Trihard, TriSwim Swimmers.
Wet your hair with clean water before swimming. If your hair is already wet, it can't absorb more. You can also coat it with a leave-in conditioner before getting in.

If you don't care about the water, just use a vaseline layer.

    SHOWER

After Swim Body Wash (TriHard) or other brands. The Body Wash Classic successfully removes chlorine and saltwater while hydrating, rejuvenating, and calming possible irritated dry skin post-workout.

    TriSwim Body Wash.

    LOTION
After washing with clean water and rinsing, add lotion.
Use a good skin-friendly moisturizing lotion.
Aveeno, Cetaphil, Eucerin, or Vanicream are okay. But use whatever one that works for you.
CeraVe Moisturizing Daily Face and Body Lotion

    This is good to know.

My dad was commenting about skin irritation lately that his dermatologist couldn't figure out. He does swim. I will share this with him. It was driving him crazy. His doctor gave him a scrip for some very expensive cream that seemed to work for a while. If it's the pool - that explains it.
