New Diet Goal!

I've gotten the point where I've actually awknowleged where most of my excess calories are coming from, and just 'not logging' anything that makes me go over out of guilt isn't helping anything. I've cut back on a lot of things that were high-calorie improptu snacks, too! I feel like I'm on a good track.

Good for you! I've heard that by recognizing and admitting bad habits, you're one-half way to quitting them. Good luck on your journey to a healthy and happy body.

    That's great!

Your body knows if you eat something. You're not fooling it by not logging. The tool works best when you use it the way it's intended. Log everything honestly and completely even if after you eat something you kind of wish you hadn't.

I know I have "cheated" sometimes. Like let's say it's late at night and I actually DID eat the whole five ounces of potato chips. It really doesn't matter if I log them all tonight or I log three ounces tonight and two ounces tomorrow as long as it gets logged. I've gotten beyond that; now I'll just log it. I have been VERY far over some days. It's just how it is.

Next step after you get better at just logging it is to step back before you eat those things and say, "Do I really want this? Maybe I can just wait 15 minutes and then decide if I REALLY want it." Sometimes that's all it takes to decide that no, I don't really want it. Or I do! Then log it.
