Hi everyone! I think I’m an outlier here because I’m significantly younger than most of you here but that’s okay! Being a young adult is stressful and I’m back here again after hitting a plateau with my weight loss. I went from 210 to 170, and have been stuck at around 165-170 for the last few weeks after a surgery. I know this is normal but I’d love to talk to others to help keep me in a groove!

There’s all ages here. It’s just that us older ones prob have more time to yack on the boards.

How long ago was your surgery? Are you fully healed yet?

Your body, which is wise and wonderful at any age, knows that water heals. So following surgery, it retains water, and directs it to the areas that need healing. Hence, the swelling, oozing etc.

It’s very common for folks to gain 10, 20 or even more pounds following a major surgery. It’s just water weight.

Basically, you’ll pee all the extra out as you no longer need it.

So if that surgery was pretty recent, stay the course. The net result won’t be as bad as you expected.

    Welcome to the boards!
