Add tracking option for Total Carbs

Since you cannot always trust manufactures to be truthful about net carbs, it would be good to track total carbs. I follow both Gary Brecka and Mark Sission and both suggest that you keep your total carbs at 50 or under a day for a keto diet.

If you don't turn on the net carbs option (available only in premium MFP), total carbs are tracked . . . if you live in a country where total carbs are on food labels, and you choose MFP database entries that are accurate in that way. (US labels show total carbs in the "carbs" slot.)

I'm assuming you must live in a country where carbs on labels are net carbs, not total carbs?

Realistically, it's going to be necessary to be very, very careful about which entries you choose from the food database, to make sure they suit your situation. You can create your own food entries (through "My Foods") and log those, if you want to be very strict in being sure what you track is total carbs.
