I am 40lbs. over weight, I have been on every diet there is, every pill ever made. I promised God and myself I would not fall into the next diet scam. I like myfitnesspal, it is a visual. So far, I feel better, I'm cutting out all carbs, just natural carbs in foods, no breads, pizza, etc. and no sweets. And no, I'm not eating all the bacon I want. In fact, lean meats~chicken, turkey, little pork. I made some homemade salsa to put on the meats.
I feel better just not putting junk in my body. I have more energy and I just started doing this a week ago. As soon as the heat index goes down, I plan on walking again.
I'm 40 yrs. old, and have to do something now before it's too late.

Age is something I am concerned about too. I am going to be 35 and don't want the weight to keep creeping on like it has been. I am fairly new myself. Good luck!

You are taking the necessay steps in a healthier lifestyle! Good for you!!! I'm fairly new to this site too, and so far I love it!
I have one suggestion. Don't call it a "diet". Diets are meant to fail. This is a lifelong journey. A change that you will need to continue for a lifetime. When we exercise to lose weight, we will eventually slip up and gain the weight back. When we exercise to be healthy, there is less chance that we will slip, and if we do, we just get right back into it again. It's not just about losing weight, but being healthy.
It's amazing how slow our metabolism gets as we age. I'm 45 and let me tell you, it was so much easier to lose 10 lbs 10 yrs ago than it is now.

Good luck!! You're on the road to success!!!

Hi! I joined here about 2 weeks ago and love it so far. I will be turning 40 in September and I realized that I need to get the extra weight off now and KEEP it off as it just gets harder as we age.
