Well, you can still eat and eat everything you love. You just need to eat less of it in order to lose weight. Losing weight doesn't mean you need to punish yourself nor to eat food you don't like. All you need is to eat less.3

Maybe it's just that I have screwy tastes, but when I started counting calories I learned that there were lots of foods that I found tasty and practical, that were also lower in calories and nutrient-dense.
I like food and eating, too; and I have a frighteningly hedonist attitude to most aspects of life. Nonetheless, when I applied myself, I found a happy way to eat that was calorie-appropriate for me . . . and my inner hedonist loves how great so many things in my life are at an appropriate body weight.
In fact, I found that I enjoy food more when I'm selective about what I eat, rather than just shoveling in whatever seems good around me. It helped me enjoy shopping, planning eating, cooking, and eating more to be more selective.
Logging food, thinking about how full/happy I was, and reviewing my diary to make improvements: That was really powerful for me in remodeling my eating habits. Maybe you can make it work, too, if you work at it.
