Need Advice

This is my first time using the community part of this app. I need advice and support. I was on Manjauro last year and lost 75 lbs. I had to stop because I got pancreatitis. I was devastated. I tried a new medication but it didn’t work and actually aided in gaining weight. I know the right things to do, but my cravings in the evening are really hard to fight. I have gained back 30 lbs and I am miserable. I can’t seem to do it on my own without medication and willpower alone. Is there anyone that has been through the same struggle with any good advice that works?
Thanks, Carrie

One way to think about this is that you are similar to a majority of people. You have trouble in the evenings. It’s very normal and it’s an issue that you would need to address eventually.

You can make improvements and it is important to see that you have power not the medication. You can set up environmental triggers to slow down eating prior to that time of day. Like putting trigger foods away in hard to reach locations. Having smaller plates and dishing out smaller portions so if you want more you have to go get it. Then the really important thing is to examine why you are really overeating in the moment. Is it because you are tired? Go take a nap instead. Is it to avoid things you don’t want to do? Then recognize that and work out whether you really need to do those things. Are you trying to avoid all your negative thoughts? Recognize that eating isn’t changing them and maybe work on practicing positive thought. You have made progress. You have reached out for help. You can make progress and positive change a little at a time.

It is very important to recognize that you have power. The medicine is a tool you can use but not the only tool.

Why in the evening? Have you been eating too little during daytime? Denying yourself something yummy and it catches up with you? Are you simply bored and just watch something boring on tv? As long as you don't know why you have cravings in the evening it'll be difficult to give some more detailed advice.
