I went skiing every day last week yet I gained 2 lbs why? I average only 1500 calories each day.

New/unusual/increased exercise is a well-known cause of water retention.
And while you were skiing, were you eating different foods than usual? Perhaps more sodium than usual (restaurant food/takeway)?
If you haven't been on your weight loss journey for a very long time, you also might not fully know your natural water weight fluctuations yet - it could be linked to your hormonal cycle (period/ovulation...).
2lbs is within normal weight fluctuations, just be patient and go back to your usual routine.1
