Newbie

Hello all, I’m 48 year old dad in Michigan, getting going with this app because I have high cholesterol and need to find ways to track food better. I eat relatively well, workout 5-7 days a week but lack fruit/veggies and fiber as well as water. Hope it helps any encouragement is appreciated. I support you all.

Welcome to MFP forums, @dtigerfan23! Sometimes when it comes to eating veggies, ya gotta just do what we tell little kids to do: eat them first, drink something to wash it down, get it over and out of the way, then enjoy the rest of the meal, lol.

Maybe experiment with how you cook the veggies, what veggies you choose? I'm in Michigan, too (mid-palm) and we get some great veggies and fruits here in summer . . . root veggies in Winter, too, and the Winter keepers. Roasted veggies taste richer than steamed/boiled, mostly.

I find that if I eat lots of veggies/fruits (which admittedly I love), my fiber is way above minimum goal, and micronutrients mostly fall into place without much explicit attention.

    Wishing you success!
