You can add your own custom exercises to the database. For calorie credit, add them in the cardiovascular section.

To do that, in the phone/tablet app, click on "Add exercise" in your diary (or plus sign on the dashboard's exercise card), then "cardiovascular", then "My Exercises", then "Create an Exercise". In web browser MFP, then click on the "Exercises" tab, then "My Exercises" then "Create Exercise". Once you provide a calorie estimate that first time, MFP will use that to estimate future sessions, scaling the calories by minutes and your then-current bodyweight, but you can override that number on entry if you know better.

Or, use the pre-existing entry "Strength training (weight lifting, weight training)". That one assumes a normal reps/sets strength workout with normal between-set rests, so you can record the whole time. Obviously, if you take a longer break for some reason, subtract that time out.

It's fairly unlikely that 50 minutes of strength training burns 500 calories, though. If that estimate's coming from a heart rate monitor, heart rate is an inaccurate basis for strength training, which increases heart rate for reasons having little to do with oxygen consumption. It's oxygen consumption that correlates with calorie burn. Heart rate is just a poor proxy, since there's not a great way to measure oxygen consumption during exercise, unless you're in a sports lab. Strength training is worth doing for many reasons, but it's typically not a great calorie burner.
