At 17, decent odds you're still growing - developing an adult body even if not necessarily adding a lot of height - which means you need ample calories. If you want to gain and aren't, eat more calories. If you're maxing your appetite already, consider spreading out some calories as snacks, eating calorie dense foods (nuts, nut butters, fried foods, full-fat dairy, avocadoes, olive oil or butter on your foods, etc.), maybe drink some of your calories if you find drinks less filling. If you're getting good nutrition in your 4k calories already, it's fine to add some treat foods to increase calories without feeling too full.

If you're 17, you're also not supposed to be here: MFP rules say 18 and over. That's because nutrition/calorie intake is different for young people, because you are still growing/maturing among other reasons.

    Best wishes!
