I'm never hungry anymore!

My goal calorie total is 1200 a day, but I'm never able to reach that without practically shoving food down my throat. I hardly ever have an appetite anymore, even though I know I HAVE to eat that many calories. Should I only eat when I'm hungry, or continue trying to reach the caloric goal? (I also burn 350-500 calories a day, which would bring down my deficit even more)

Oh and are there any high-calorie (but healthy) snacks you could recommend?0

Well there is no such thing as bad calories for you. But here is what you can do to get more calories: add nuts, cheese, protein bars, protein shakes, cook meats in EVOO, eating peanut butter out of a jar, ice cream. Replace all low calorie snacks with high calorie snacks. In the end, eating dirty and getting enough calories is more important than eating clean. Too little calories will increase the chance of muscle loss and metabolic adaptation.0 -
Thanks! Ooh yay! I could work in ice cream...0

Peanut butter really works for me on those days when I am not hungry!0

Yup, that sounds about right! And thank you for the advice about eating calorie-dense foods!0

The normal progress of these posts goes like this.
Someone asks how OP got overweight if you can't eat the calories. The OP usually answers that veggies make them full. Someone forwards OP to the search function (I have started for you). Occasionally someone will give OP tailored advice if OP opens diary. Several people tell OP to eat calorie dense food, such as nuts, olive oil, full fat dairy, and eggs. Someone tells OP not to eat if they're not hungry. Other people remind this poster that this encourages malnutrition and unhealthy attitudes toward food, never mind the many reasons that hunger signals are unreliable. Thread devolves.
At some point, everyone hopes OP paid attention about the calorie dense food.
Here are a few examples. There are many more.
