I have been faithfully following a 1400 calorie a day protocol, logging all food and working out at least four times a week. But I'm on a plateau! Very discouraging. Anyone have tips on blasting out of the plateau zone? I'm discouraged. TIA.

Knowing a little more would help us help you. How long have you been in a calorie deficit this time, and how long has the stall on the scale lasted? What is your age, current height/weight, and daily life activity level (job and such)?2

Corinne (@corinne294), I see that you accepted my answer. Please understand that I'd like to help. I'm 68, female, formerly class 1 obese, lost weight with MFP in 2015-16, have been at a healthy weight since, today 132.8 pounds at 5'5". My avatar photo is me at 60, shortly after weight loss. If you look at web MFP, you can see other photos of me that are clearly all the same woman, fat and thin, and see my story. (https://www.myfitnesspal.com/profile/AnnPT77 )
Improving fitness and reaching a healthy weight have been super powerful quality of life improvements for me, and I would love to help you if I can.
If you're not comfortable commenting in MFP public, please feel free to send me a friend request (I'll accept), and send me a private message. I'm not selling anything, am not a multi-level marketing seller/coach or anything like that, nothing that would try to exploit you.
My advice might or might not be spot-on for you, but I'm sincere in my intentions. If you follow up, and find that that's a lie, please, please report me to MFP as a scammer . . . because I'm confident that will not be your perception.
Wishing you excellent outcomes, sincerely.

Hi. I have hit this plateau as well. I'm 39, female, with hashimoto's thyroiditis, 5'2, 167lbs. I've been on a 1300 calorie deficit for 9 months. Average about 4k steps per day, working out 3 days per week for 40 minutes. My weight when I started was 191, so I have lost some weight. I am proud of my progress but now discouraged. I've been stuck bouncing between 167 and 165 for 2 months now... help?3
