Sleep Restriction

Hello,

I'm currently exploring the "sleep restriction" technique.

- Has anyone here tried it?

I'm interested in adopting this approach for a few months, but I have concerns about potential risks and difficulties in implementing it correctly also I cannot figure it out correctly.

Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Sounds like a terrible idea. Doubtful there is any benefit and a whole bunch of reasons not to do it.

Huh? It's just a variation on a normal, mainstream sleep hygiene technique, but with a scary name.

I'd never heard of it, so I looked it up. I've done similar, and it helped me. But I've never worked that hard or been that strict.

I have done something similar to flip schedules for shift work and it worked out well. The part that helped me more than anything was sticking to the wakeup time no matter what.

That being said, I have RLS, not insomnia, so I may be comparing apples to oranges.
