    Don't focus on losing weight fast (restrictive eating rules; miserable, punitively intense exercise). Focus on how to lose weight relatively easily, choosing filling, nutrient dense foods you enjoy eating, and add enjoyable (at least tolerable/practical) ways of moving more in both daily life and formal exercise.

    Figure out new, practical habits you can continue forever to not only reach but afterward stay at a healthy weight permanently. Positive new habits that can run almost on autopilot - those are a power tool for long-term weight management.

    Not really a tip. More like a click--it finally made sense.
    It's not a diet. Not all or nothing for a set time, then done. It really is a small part of life forever. Like brushing your teeth. Several times a day, yet takes very little effort. Just don't skip it.
