Good morning MFP; I’m new here. I’m 62 almost 63. I’m here to gain better insight into what I actually eat and to drop 5 lbs while I’m at it get my body moving again. I feel like a rusty old can in the morning so I’m hoping that improves as well. I’m excited to meet other like minded seniors and anyone else on this journey needing support.
At the moment I’m only brisk walking 10,000 steps a day (trying to ) I’m going to be adding on yoga and some weight training because I need that too. It’s important for me to maintain a healthy lifestyle at my age so I can keep going. I want to be as healthy as I can. I think MFP will be a great tool. Thank you. If you want to be friends and you’re looking for support add me. I’m just learning how to navigate this app.

Hello, and welcome!
It sounds like you have a good plan: Walking, yoga, strength training. Combine that with appropriate calories, you'll easily lose those few pounds; tune up your nutrition if that can be improved and that will bear some great fruit, too.
I'm 68, and an MFP "oldie" - joined at 59, lost about 50 pounds, hanging around now to continue maintaining a healthy weight. (So far, so good.) I'd started being more active in my later 40s after cancer treatment, am still pretty active now . . . that can have a payoff in reversing that "rusty old can in the morning" thing. (As an aside, have you had a thyroid test recently? Deficiency can start to show up in more people around our age - for me it was earlier - and for me, stiffness in the morning was one of the first noticeable symptoms.)
Best wishes for success: The effort is worth it!0
