Car accident & no one exercise = weight gain

Hello, my name is Janice and I am recovering from a serious car accident that happened in September 2023. I have been unable to exercise and haven’t driven since. I was a passenger.
Sadly I’ve gained back almost all the weight I lost previously and am now depressed & frustrated. I’m hoping to get the okay from OT, Physiotherapist & doctor to go back to the gym even to just walk on the treadmill & use a stationary bike.
Hoping to focus on eating better, (boring sitting at home other than out for therapy & appointments.)
I dont swim and have anxiety in the water so water aerobics are not for me.
Anyone else who have had a similar experience your suggestions would be appreciated.

I didn't have a car accident, but I managed to slip a disc in my back moving 50lb planters a couple of years ago. That set me back big time in my weight loss and I gained all and more back. After about a year of PT and just being tired of being overweight, last year I decided I needed medical assistance to get back to it. I started going to a weight loss clinic and was prescibed phentramine. My mobility is back almost fully (as much as a 56 year old can be) so with the medicine and simply walking a mile on the treadmill every day, or every other day. I'm now down 55lbs.
I actually decided to come off the medicine because I needed to get my BP down, and I wanted to see if I had disciplined myself enough to do it on my own. So far since coming off of it last month, I'm down another 5.
This way of weight loss has been so much better for me. I simply dropped my calories down to 1700 (Well my doc did), the medicine to jump start and a commitment to the gym a few times a week has worked. It's coming off slowly, but it's coming off.
For you, the key will be if you can get to the gym just to walk on the treadmill. Heck, even if you can just go outside on a nice day and walk.
I track all my calories here. I make sure to use the fitness app on my Apple watch which is linked to Myfitness to measure my exercise.
It's all about discipline and just wanting to be healthy.
I was depressed like you are now. I was eating late at night when I was bored.
Fast food was my breakfast.
It's all stopped
Okay, well not the late night eating. But my late night snacks are now yogurt and low sugar oatmeal.
Don't let the depression stop you. Once you start moving again and get past the first couple weeks, you'll feel better and you'll WANT to keep going.
You can do it. Get off tha couch, walk as much as you can.
Don't let you brain get the best of you. I love sitting on the couch watching TV and eating.
I just can't anymore. I want to live into my sixties, seventies and eighties.1
