Hi Judy!
Cori, 74 female. I started this round of weight loss a year ago at 220. Today 172.
What macros did MFP give you? That's a good place to start.
What are your aims and goals?
For weight loss, calories are King. For fitness, first start with exercise you like and will do. Walking? Playing with grand kids? Or pets? Add stretching, weights as you go.

The values MFP will give you when you set up your profile are a good starting point for most people, as long as they don't try to lose weight aggressively fast. (There's no getting adequate nutrition on too few calories!)
You'll notice that I answered your protein question on another thread. Protein and fats comprise some "essential nutrients" in the sense that our bodies can't manufacture them out of any other food intake. In that sense, those are more important as a focus than carbs, which are not "essential" in that same sense.
Since you're new here, why not set up your MFP profile, log how you're eating now, and see how that stacks up against the default protein and fats goals? (It's fine to exceed either or both of those, but not as fine to routinely be far under either. But you can gradually chip away at improving by modifying your eating habits in manageable ways: You don't have to be perfect on everything instantly. At our age - I'm 68 BTW - I'd prioritized tuning up protein first if that's consistently lower than the MFP default goal.)
