Hello. First time poster

Hello, I’ve had the app downloaded for a while but I finally started using it this week. Figured I’d stop in and say hello. And tips for a newbie with 60 pounds to lose?

    Hello and welcome to the MFP Community!

    My routine tip is to think about how to make weight loss relatively easy and permanent, rather than trying to make it happen fast.

    "Fast" can lead to unsustainable tactics such as extreme dietary restrictions and punitively intense/frequent exercise. It's hard to keep those things up long enough to lose a meaningful total amount of weight, let alone live that way forever to stay at a healthy weight.

    I'm a believer in experimenting during weight loss to find sustainable, tolerable, practical (and ideally pleasant) new habits that will not only lead to gradual weight loss, but also set oneself up for staying at a healthy weight long term almost on autopilot when other parts of life get challenging . . . because they will.

    (Context: I'm in year 7+ of maintenance now, after a year of loss and around 30 previous years of overweight/obesity. I lost a bit less than your 60 pound goal - in my case 50-ish total loss plus or minus depending on which day you ask me ;) .)
