Cannot link Fitbit to my new account

I had to delete my old account because the email it was linked to got hacked, and I’ve started a fresh, and I’ve tried to link my Fitbit to my new account, but it keeps giving me an error message saying I can only have it linked to one account at the time, and the other account has been deleted. How do I go about fixing this?

    Our Customer Happiness team can assist you with unlinking your Fitbit from your previous MyFitnessPal account. Please reach out to them by visiting https://myfitnesspal.zendesk.com/hc/en-us or emailing directly to support@myfitnesspal.com

    When you do reach out, please include your Fitbit ID in your email so our team can assist you promptly. (This is different than your Fitbit username or email address you use to login)

    Here is how you get your Fitbit ID via your dashboard:
    Log in to Fitbit.com and click on the person icon in the upper right of the screen and then select My Dashboard.
    From here, click on your profile icon in the upper right of the screen.
    This will take you to your Fitbit.com Profile and now copy the URL at the top and paste it in the email reply to us. ( your Fitbit ID will look something like fitbit.com/XXXXXX )


    You can also find your ID in the Fitbit app:
    1. Tap on the profile image in the upper left
    2. Tap on your name
    3. Tap Personal
    4. UserID can be found at the bottom of the screen.
