94 & back again

That's 94kg, not years, although I still think I'll be coming back when I am that age.

I'm single again and got the thought that I need to lose weight to attract a partner. My life coach says otherwise. So,given that news, I'm here to get more balance in my life.

Hello, and welcome to the MFP Community!

    Your life coach is right.

That said, many people prefer a healthy partner, and being healthier (IME) is life enhancing even when we don't have a partner, so good show that you're here and seeking balance.

Here's a thought (from someone who's probably closer to 94 y/o than you are ;) ): "Coming back until 94" sounds like you're anticipating loss, then regain. Maybe stick around? The regain is optional.

Not everyone needs to keep counting calories forever to stay at a healthy weight permanently (nor is permanent MFP participation required in order to do that). But focusing on finding new, permanent, relatively easy, relatively happy habits is key for staying at a healthy weight IME. (I was overweight/obese for around 30 years, lost from there to a healthy weight in just under a year, and have been at a healthy weight for 7+ years since.))

A bunch of people seem to arrive here with an aggressive plan: Extreme, restrictive eating rules, punitively intense and unpleasant exercise. All of that is optional. Often the people who espouse it seem to disappear from MFP fast. (I hope because they succeeded, but I have my doubts.)

Experimenting, finding and practicing new sustainable habits that gradually get us to goal weight and keep us there long term (which I think is the true big prize): That can be really powerful.

    Wishing you excellent results!
