Hi folks

Hi everyone. I’m not completely new, but new to the community here. I’m part way through weight loss journey having been overweight all my life. This time round I’ve lost about 20kg in the last 4 and a half months. Aiming to lose another 10kg and making progress.
I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes in November which prompted this round of losing weight. Following a lowish carb diet to help lose weight and reduce blood sugar.
My goal is to kick diabetes in the balls, get slim, ripped and sexy and get in the best health and shape I’ve ever been in.

Thanks @edoardo531, no one's invulnerable to potential health issues it seems. We just have to take responsibility for how we deal with them and do the best we can.

I've started having overnight oats with some protein powder in for breakfasts which has been really good actually. Started to experiment a bit more this week with it. I've usually just done the protein powder and milk and a handful of blueberries or strawberries with half a cup of oats. But decided to try some different ideas this week, so did an apple pie flavoured one with apple, ground cinnamon and a vanilla protein and got a carrot cake style one to try tomorrow morning. Same vanilla protein powder with some grated carrot and spice mixture, and a little bit of cream cheese with some sweetener whipped through it to go on top!

Also really enjoyed trying alternatives to white potatoes, using different veg like swede and celeriac to make chips or gratin etc. Trying to not go too low carb but they help to bring down the calories too. Also done really nice satay sauce using powdered peanut butter.
