Hi all, does this app take into account calories burnt just to maintain day to day activities when calculating a calorie deficit

Yes, it takes into account your personal stats and selected (non exercise) activity level to estimate your TDEE (without exercise) and then subtracts the appropriate number depending on the selected rate of loss.0

You select an activity level when you set up your account and goals. This takes resting calories into account. That’s why it’s important to make sure you have your initial activity level correct:
If you are using certain fitness trackers, you can also set it up so you don’t get double credit for steps or activity recorded during workouts, like so:
I record most walks, unless it’s just to the yoga studio or around d the block. Since I’m getting calories for steps taken during a walk, the Apple Watch adjustment makes sure I don’t get additional
“Credit” for those same steps.1
