I would just like to share, my thoughts at this early stage.
I know im only 3 weeks in, but this seems to have become a bit of an obsession.
I am gob smacked with what I have achieved in the last 3 weeks, with help of this app and the support of friends on here.
I used to drink beer at home almost every day. As of yet I'm still to have a beer at home! I can't believe I have not been tempted, there is still beer in the fridge.
As regards to full fat coke and Pepsi, It would be common for me to drink 4-6 cans a day, again other than when I was on holiday, I have only drank low sugar versions.
I have been under my calorie goal every day, sometimes well under with the exercise taken into account.
I am now out on my mountain bike most mornings doing a 4 miles off road circuit along a local river, and have knocked 8 minuets off my first time out. Sometimes I have been out as early as 06:00. Again I can't believe this!
I have also bought a cross trainer/ exercise bike and since buying this I have done 30 mins a day combined with the 23 mins my off road circuit is now taking me.
I have more energy and the first thing on my mind when I wake up is getting on those scales. To see if I have lost weight and how soon I can get on my bike.
I was someone who would eat whatever I wanted and never gave it a thought, a very regular drinker, who was defiantly damaging his health and did little if any exercise.
I want to thank everyone involved in this site for the support, those who have added me as a friend
I know it's only very early days but here's to the future and maintaining this life change!
Feel free to add me, I need friends to help me on this journey.
Thanks for listening
Steve

Well done you, amazing what you can achieve in such little time when you have the determination to do so. You are doing brilliantly and I hope you go on to achieve all your goals0

Well I think you are doing great, sometimes it can take a lifetime for people to make the changes you have made in 3 weeks. Well done you are doing great, keep going and keep up the good work. I'm sure the weight will continue to disappear and your love of exercise will only grow. My running has turned into a bit of an obsession, I couldn't image not going for my runs now. I have had a few problems with my eating over the last few weeks, I was letting a few naughty treats slip back in, but you have given me some motivation to get back onto it. Thanks friend you are a star!0

Hi Steve
Thank you for your post how inspiring. I am only 2 weeks into it myself and only lost 3lb. I don't meet the goals every day but I do run about 3 times a week so I do meet the goals on those days. I think I will get better as I get more into it as I had porridge oats this morning instead of my usual toast and butter. Well done to you on your achievement and for sharing how this can really work.
I have set myself a goal of only 1lb a week so I could lose a stone by Christmas so at least I seem to be on track for that. Not sure how to add friends but I will try.0 -
Agreed wholeheartedly.
The big thing for me is not feeling like I am on my own with it, and thinking someone out there cares - modern world being quite isolating in some respects.
Well done !

You are doing amazing, keep it up!! I think that's really the turning point when you have that "feeling" feeling better, feeling healthy... On those bad days just remind yourself of that feeling and it will get you thru it.0

Hi! I'm only one or two weeks ahead of you and can totally relate to this post.
One of the main reasons I started turning my life around is because I was getting sick so often - colds, cough, bronchitis, laryngitis, etc. Had very little energy to do anything but as I'm a workaholic, I still pushed myself a lot then would get sick again. But ever since I started mfp, there have been no more bouts of sickness! And it's like I've been zapped with 100% more energy. So I'm glad to be your friend here and to see you've made it to three weeks. Here's to more and more weeks of health and awesomeness!0 -
Steve,
I too have found a real change since starting on this site about 2 weeks ago. Last night, I wanted more veggies, not my old stillin cabinet snacks. I am type 2 diabetic so I didn't need beer to damage my health, food was doing plenty of damage by itself!!! I'll send a friend request as we started out about same time. I have biked in past and will again, but my new joy is just walking. I usually am up at 5:00 and taking in the dawn with 5k walks every morning. Getting a late start today only because I don't need to be to work for 8:00 but already feeling antsy to get going!!! It is such a nice change.0 -
great to hear :happy:0

I too can relate to your post. I set my first goal at 10 pounds, thinking it wasn't going to happen. I was there in 30 days! I have set another goal.
Using MFP really made me aware of my eating habits and lack of exercise. Plus the support is awesome!
Having energy again is priceless!
Enjoy your journey!0 -
Thanks for all the fantastic comments and words of encouragement.
It nice to know many have a similar story.0 -
Awesome job! I'm so glad myfitnesspal is free for anyone to use. Most of the time, companies take advantage of us because they know most people are willing to pay money for a site like this. It makes me happy seeing posts like yours where people change their lives...and 3 weeks is a short amount of time! Congrats!0
