Regarding the recently published carrot cake recipe-is it correct that it is baked in one 9" cake pan? The photo shows a layered cake.

Caveat: Here, you're just talking to other regular MFP users like yourself. We don't have any special insight.

A 9-inch cake pan would be roughly 6 cups of batter, +/-, and it looks like this recipe is in that range.

They may have baked multiple 9-inch pans to make layers, they may have grabbed a stock photo of carrot cake, or they may have split the single 9-inch round horizontally into 3 layers (since the layers in the photo look fairly thin): No way to know.

If you want to make it, you have the option of a single-layer cake, making multiple full rounds (and increasing the calories per serving proportionately, of course), or splitting into thin layers (which might require more frosting, dunno).

If you try the recipe, and feel up to it, maybe come back here and tell us how it worked out?

    Best wishes!
