Finally Doing It!

Hello everyone!
I’m a 62 year young female and I have been overweight for several years now. I have used myFitness Pal several times before and always come back to it. In the past I would let life get in my way and give up. Not this time! I have now been using this app since 3/9/24 and the first 2 weeks I lost 21lbs! I know a lot of that was water but I can really tell a difference in my clothes. I feel so much better and I went from only sitting or laying on the sofa to getting out and walking. I even wear a fitness watch and track my steps. I’m graduating to the treadmill in my gym since it’s getting hot outside now. I weigh again in 2 days and I’m super excited tj see my progress. The app gave me 1310 calories to start with but I rarely use them all. I normally only eat 1100-1200 calories a day. I’m really just not hungry anymore. I also have to watch my sodium which is in EVERYTHING and it adds up quick. I’m very happy to finally be doing this and I can’t wait to see the new me when I’ve lost it all. It’s been a while. So hello to all and keep up the good work! Don’t give up like I have many times in the past because you will just keep gaining. Bon Appetit!

Welcome, @Candylicious2961!
I won't preach about eating a minimum number of calories, IF you make sure to get proper nutrition in the calories you DO eat. Protein, vitamins and minerals in fruits and veggies, enough good fat to keep hormones under control. You can learn a TON about nutrition through the pages here.0
