Message boards question

I have searched and searched and no answer. I have some groups/discussions bookmarked and have a shortcut on my desktop. When I go to read the messages, I am not brought to the first unread message in that discussion. So, I have to go forward a few pages and try to figure out where I left off.

How can I easily get to the first unread message in a thread? Thanks.

I think this is just a URL issue. If you have a page bookmarked and it's bringing you to the same place every time, it's likely because you have that specific page bookmarked instead of using #latest.

Here's what a URL should look like to bring you to the most recent unread page, using this Discussion as an example; https://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/10913484/message-boards-question#latest (emphasis mine).

Versus the URL for a different discussion routing to a specific page; https://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/10840648/so-this-is-a-cyber-cafe-whatll-be/p95

So by changing the end of the URL this should in theory fix that issue, though this is super niche and specific so I can't be sure of that without testing myself. Otherwise, your other option would be to create a new bookmark wherever you leave off- which I hope is not what you have to do, as that would suck.

Some threads are marked as 'questions' rather than 'discussions'. Which has the annoying result that you're always taken to the replies indicated as 'best answers' (at the start of the thread) instead of the actual newest replies.
Perhaps that's what's happening to you?

@Lietchi Thanks for answering. I am in some group challenges, and it happens on those pages. So I know that those aren't marked as questions. Thanks though!

@durden Yes, that worked!!! As you can see, I've been trying for months to figure this out. I have used the "help" and the "search" functions. Several people have asked, and no answers. Until now!

Thanks so much! Using #latest worked!
