Ooh, also, the first half of Camelot is a great musical. The second half really ruins it.

I have viewed and performed in many musicals written from the 1940's on and it's not with small shock that I say my favorite musical was from the end of the 20th century!

Les Miserables is unique in its staging, beautiful in it's telling of a classic story and the harmonies used in that music are mind blowing. I was so sad when in its last tour they chose not to use the rotating stage which after seeing many times still took my breath away.

West Side Story - hands down.

I can still recite lyrics from many of its songs........

:blushing: :blushing: (My mom was a musical junkie - she played piano at home and would sing all of these "show tunes" when we were growing up........learned them by heart as a kid!)

Hmm - in no particular order:

    The Who's Tommy
    The Lion King
    The Book of Mormon
    Wicked
    Phantom
    Jesus Christ, Superstar

Those are just the stage productions, if i added movies, it would take me longer.
