This is a REALLY hard question. but Les Miserables.

I have never seen Les Miserables as a musical. I have only heard it as a Radio Theatre by Focus on the Family and it is so good in that version. I did not know until I heard the audio version that the story is wonderful.

Phantom of the Opera or..... Guys and Dolls.

I loved Phantom of the Opera as a young adult. I have not seen it in a while so I do not know if I would still like it. I like musicals, especially the music!

It's a toss up of Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, The Unsinkable Molly Brown, & There's No Business Like Show Business. The movie Goddess that recently came out was pretty fun, too.

you should revise with the 25th anniversary production on DVD it had the 2 leads from Love Never Dies (Sierra Boggess and Ramin Karimloo) the 2 of them nailed the part and almost surpass the greatness that was Brightman and Crawford. as for the music it never gets old, i could listen to that over and over again. Love Never Dies not so much that was pretty awfull..

Best show I have seen is Wicked, it was amazing, the best musical film has got to be Grease for childhood memories, or Singin' in the rain.

Okay, I am completely amazed at the number of people who like Seven Brides for Seven Brothers. I really thought I was the only dork who ever watched it!

    Nice thread!!

I like My Fair Lady, but I hated the way it ended. I remember really vividly when I first saw Moulin Rouge.

I agree re: My Fair Lady. It ruined an otherwise perfect story.

    No definitive fave here ..
We had some small local productions here, They're playing our song (Music by Lucy Arnaz Jr.)
There was a Marilyn Monroe one too but the title escapes me.

As for films, I'm a bit corny with the ones I most think back on ..
The Pirate movie, Grease/Grease2, Cry Baby, A Chorus Line,
Cotton Club (love that one) .. there are others but my brain is asleep.

Oh! I forgot Cry Baby! Definitely goes on my list.

    Les Mis. No question.

Although I love musicals and I don't think I've ever seen one I truly disliked. Okay, maybe Cats. Yeah, Cats was awful.

I volunteer at our local theater so I can see all of the Broadway series shows for free! Totally excited about seeing Book of Mormon this year!

The Phantom of the Opera. There was no sequel. None. At all.

    Also Les Miz.
