Trying to reduce A1C and lose weight

Hi. I was diagnosed as prediabetic by my doctor and hired a nutritionist who specializes in diabetic diet and weight loss. I have lost 12 pounds in 4 months and am about to get bloodwork done. She encouraged me to get this app to track calories and carbohydrates.

    Hi, welcome :)

Did they give you any goals or an approach for meals?

The tracker helps for sure! It shows a break out in cals, carbs, protein that really helps understand how much we're eating.

Tracking calories and macros absolutely works. I'm on round two after gaining a bunch back, but before my current situation, My A1C was 6.1 and I got very strict at calorie counting using MFP, and exercise. Make sure to get in some exercise even if it is just walking in place.... I lost somewhere around 75 lbs at my 6 month checkup and A1C went to 5.4 and all my other numbers were perfect. Good Luck, Stay focused, you can do it.
