Hi. I was diagnosed as prediabetic by my doctor and hired a nutritionist who specializes in diabetic diet and weight loss. I have lost 12 pounds in 4 months and am about to get bloodwork done. She encouraged me to get this app to track calories and carbohydrates.

Hi, welcome
Did they give you any goals or an approach for meals?
The tracker helps for sure! It shows a break out in cals, carbs, protein that really helps understand how much we're eating.

Tracking calories and macros absolutely works. I'm on round two after gaining a bunch back, but before my current situation, My A1C was 6.1 and I got very strict at calorie counting using MFP, and exercise. Make sure to get in some exercise even if it is just walking in place.... I lost somewhere around 75 lbs at my 6 month checkup and A1C went to 5.4 and all my other numbers were perfect. Good Luck, Stay focused, you can do it.1
