    Hello and welcome
I signed up here 30 days ago, right after I got diagnosed with diabetes. Before I had been prediabetic but of course that wasn't enough of a wake-up call so I continued to eat what I wanted.
I am here to reverse the diagnosis. I bought a cheap but reliable blood glucose reader and poked my finger 3 times a day.
Wow, these numbers. Two hours after eating it shows me if I did good or not. Same in the mornings.
Today for the first time my glucose was under 100 (98) in the normal range.
I have lost 11 pounds. I am determined to work on my sugar level and my weight. I have over 100 lbs to lose, so if you want a friend here, please send me a request. Or I will send you one because it took me days until I figured out how to do it.

Welcome to MFP, both of yall.

My husband joined me on MFP a couple of years ago, at 65. He has significantly reduced his blood glucose level, to the point his doctor said last year he can come off the meds.

He’s been on them for two decades or so, and chose not to, primarily because we travel quite a bit and when we do, he’s concerned about eating unfamiliar foods, or those no longer on his plan (as one does, when traveling!). He feels more comfortable staying on them, but it’s wonderful he has the option.

He did come off BP meds, though, with weight loss and exercise.

Nowadays he gets itchy if one of his classes has been cancelled. 👍🏻

Anyway, after having lost the equivalent half-a-grown-adult off my own back, can sincerely say, app works if you do.
