    Maintenance weight range:110.2-149.9lb
    My ideal: 142.5-147.5lb
    I lose successfully with MFP, and then I get lazy with logging or quit caring and slowly my weight creeps up again. Here’s a sample of the highs and lows!

    I find maintenance terrifying and boring in equal measure, so I am trying different tactics this time: firstly, challenging myself to keep within a range this time around (target range set in HappyScale), hence the use of recorded and trend weights below: secondly, posting in the Maintainer’s Check-in.

    Successes of the week:
    :smile: I am now wearing size 10 jeans, a size I haven’t worn in years (and even then, I only fit into them briefly). I plan to use these as a tool for maintaining this time round!
    I knew last night when I had to get up 3 times to pee that the ‘Whoosh’ had finally arrived this morning, just in time for the weekly weigh in!

    Struggles of the week:
    :confused:Happy Scale continued showing a very slight gain, but I did NOT let it freak me out… I have seen fluctuations like this before (salty food, travelling) and kept to my exercise and calorie goals so I KNOW I hadn’t consumed the calories needed to gain 2lb… my mantra is “Trust the process!”.

    Success/Struggle: I was relieved that my weight was under 116 this week. I had a colonoscopy procedure last week and that usually means a weight loss but afterwards I was so hungry that I ate and ate. The next day, I still had to consciously tell myself that I wasn't really hungry. I'm back to normal today. :)

    I was away on holiday (again!) – just 4 nights and we were self-catering. We did eat in the restaurant two nights and I had a beer on three of the evenings, but it all evened out with cycling and swimming during the day.

    Successes:
    Maintaining current weight is a win.
    Exercise is on track!! Feels great to be able to hike again!
    No eating out (my Achilles heel) Tough, but doing it.
    Leg fracture is healed. No cane since April 17
    Tracking all food
    Macros/micros are in a good place.
    I’m not giving up.

    Struggles:
    Difficulty reducing my calories more. I am focusing on this now that I have other habits back in place.

    My (new) MOTIVATION:
    I was surprised to learn today by an x-ray that both hips have arthritis (and knees) but I don’t feel it at all.

    I read “being at an ideal weight” helps decrease progression. This will be my motivation. I’d like to avoid hip replacement down the road if I possibly can. Surgery is a godsend & I’m Grateful I can now walk but boy is it painful & time consuming to recuperate.

    Successes/struggles of the week: Will be starting to taper off some meds that I've been taking for a long time that have been causing water retention to stay around. Hopefully I'll see more downward progress back into my range again, though I'll still be on one med with those side effects.

    Quiet week at home, no struggles, weight dropping to the lower limit of my maintenance range. Now I need to make the mental shift to allowing myself more treats. The next holiday is in early June, we don’t even have any plans for lunch or dinner out in the next few weeks.

    Success/Struggle: Luckily, I haven't gained last week. I been adding some food over my plan meals. Sometimes it was because of hungry and sometimes it was I just wanted to eat something. Bothersome.

    May 11: 131 lb

    Some of you may think, "you don't have to lose weight", but I have health issues which require me to lose weight, and when you get 'older' all your weight goes to your gut so you develop a 'trunk' which makes all my close look tight around my middle.

    Successes of the week: got smaller plates, measuring cups, and smaller utensils to make portion control easier.

    Struggles: I have a skinny husband who can eat anything and not gain, and he doesn't understand my struggle. So when we eat he's always asking, "do you want more?" and "Let's have some wine?" Getting him on board and supporting me is difficult. I basically ignore him and pour myself a mocktail!

    My Mocktail recipe: grab a wine glass, put in crushed ice, add a 1/2 shot glass of cranberry juice and 1/2 a shot of apple cider vinegar, fill the rest with cold water. Sip and enjoy! It gives me the 'experience' of enjoying wine with my husband.

    :smile: I have been entirely in the Happy Scale ‘pink zone’ (ideal range) for the whole week - and I hit the middle of my ideal weight on Thursday (which was at least a week earlier than Happy Scale had predicted). I am deliberately eating less than maintenance to allow some ‘headroom’ for next week…

    Struggles of the week:
    None this week… but will be flying to Rome for a 3-day break on Tuesday, and NOT freaking out when I get home and weigh myself. Trust the process!
