Most useful compact exercise equipment?

I'm short on space, so I need advice for something really useful, cost-effective and most importantly, small.
What accessory/equipment do you find was "worth it"? (besides dumbbells)

Running shoes......they can be stored in your closet when not in use and offer the biggest bang for the buck to size ratio bar none.
How about a TRX suspension trainer? Can be stored in a drawer and you can hang in on a door to workout or take it to the park and there are a multitude of workouts for them.0 -
Jungle Gym XT suspension trainer.
Pull up bar. Can be stored in a closet when it's not in use.0 -
We just recently bought a cross-trainer. Doesnt use that much space and its a nice exercise for arms and legs .. Very content with it so far .. in 30 minutes I (supposedly) burn 468 cals ..0
