Hello everyone

My fitness journey began in 2007, when I lost 60 lbs over a span of 3-3.5 months. I walked just about every day, and made sure I was eating healthy food - a lot of fish as I remember.

My motivation was that my mom had been overweight for most of her life, and I had also witnessed the horrible toll that diabetes took on her. I was at a pool party one day. As I was changing into my swim trunks, I looked at myself in the bathroom mirror and I knew I needed to make changes.

After that, I began going to the gym, but focused more on cardio than lifting weights. I also had a few years where I would run/walk in 5Ks, but that fizzled out after our biggest local 5K went away due to lack of sponsorship.

In the last few years, my fitness journey has been great when I’ve had the time for it. When my gym opened back up from the pandemic, I worked out frequently and saw some good results. Then my work started up again, but we weren’t at full speed for awhile, so I had the luxury of going pretty much when I wanted to - as far as time of day goes.
I focused more on lifting, and even worked with a trainer for a few months in 2022.

And yes, now that we’re back at a full 5
days a week, it is harder. We all know
what the gym is like around 5 PM, so I’ll say no more about that. What I will say is I don’t quite look like my profile picture right now, but I am trying!
