Running in pool

How do I log running in the pool deep end for an hour. It registers my steps, but I only get about 60 burned calories. I go as fast as I can it’s not a leisurely pace. Just don’t know how exactly to log it. Water aerobics maybe?

You wear a flotation device that keeps your head and shoulders above the water. Look up "Deep water running." It's a very low-impact way to move your body and work your muscles. The water provides some resistance, and it's very easy on your joints.

Of course I can envision it, mtaratoot.

    I'm a water person.

If I wanted to burn the most calories, I wouldn't use a floaty, I'd use my arms to keep me working harder in the deep end.

I have to admit to using leg buoys sometimes when I do freestyle laps, though. Makes a huge difference for my back, core and arms - which is my main focus in the pool.

I have no idea how to record this. We did lots of it included in a Water X class. Any pool running is challenging. Shallow water running is difficult too. Using your arms and treading water is a workout, but eliminate your arms and just make your legs do the work? That's a killer non-impact leg workout. Maybe put it in as Water Aerobics?

Run in the shallow end while holding dumbells
