Do I log things that use a different metabolic pathway (ribose)?

I'm not quite sure how to write down this question as I'm not sure I really understand the whole process.

I'm currently experimenting with D-Ribose (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ribose), a simple sugar, which, however does not provide energy directly within the blood but helps in energy generation within the cells/mitochondria (kind of). As a sugar it comes in at 4kcal/1gr. The question is: do I log the calorie equivalent of 15gr sugar each day, or not log it, given the different metabolic pathway?

Suggestions?

(btw, I feel very energetic eating it and exercising works better)
edit: keep in mind I'm trying to lose a bit of weight very, very slowly and I feel that I should take 60kcal extra into account if I have to.

Yes, you should treat ribose like a carb and count them.
